Updated the CSS [so reload], affecting all pages. The menus are now lists, so they are more readable in older browsers. (I should have used this technique on The Programme Covers Project. I will when I get around to it.) As a result, they look better in all browsers, except for IE, which is a shame because I’m guessing most people viewing this will be using it.

Added two more tapes to the Tape Trading section, under mix tapes. I traded tapes with someone a few weeks ago, and was waiting on mine for a couple of weeks — the guy was blagging it — but a phone call soon hurried up their arrival! I’ve also added another Helter Skelter gallery to the photo archive.

Updated the CSS and made slight changes made to the photos page annotations, slight cosmetic changes to this page and the addition of two more gallery’s to the photo archive; pics from the first Helter Skelter of 2003, and NYE at Slammin’ Vinyl. More will be added throughout the weekend — keep checking back (and refreshing).

Last night was another good meet up. It all went as planned (see yesterday’s news), starting off at The Carriers with a little pool competition, resulting in the enevitable grudge match: Tom vs Rob! Rob won, and remains undefeated (and probably unbeatable)! The rest I’ll leave to your immagination! Ian took his camera thankfully, so there are plenty of pics to document the night. They’ll be online (in photo archive) as soon as I get them.

Uploaded the first page of the photo archive with the latest pics from 2003 (no new additions). This is a private section for friends only I’m afraid, so a username/password is required. I should get the remaining gallery’s done over the weekend.

Tonight is another of the biweekly meet-ups of old school friends. For two years we hadn’t seen or heard from Ben, until Rob decided enough was enough, and met up with him. Now we see Ben regularly, along with Tom, Rob, Ian, and sometimes Clive and others. They’re always a good night I think everyone agrees, with lots of action and laughs!

We meet at one of East Bergholt’s six pubs, The Carriers Arms, early evening to have a couple of drinks and games of pool before getting a taxi into Ipswich. It’s a good way to do it, as the night is then split up nicely, and there’s a nice build up to town. Once in town we head over to J D Wetherspoon’s Cricketers pub, where drinks are very cheap! We try to drink a lot at The Cricketers, so we don’t need to fork out loads at Liquid later, where drinks are certainly not cheap.

The night usually goes on into the early hours of the morning, ending with us all getting in a black cab home. Last time we almost had a fight at the taxi rank, so we’ll have to watch out this week!

Not sure if I will add much often to this [new] news section… it was just an idea, so I’ll see how it goes. Not sure I want it to turn into a ‘weblog’ but I wouldn’t mind. I’ve always secretly wanted one, but never got it together…

Hope the new layout suits everyone. I think it’s a great improvement on the old one — a lot more accessible, and a bit more stylelish at the same time. There is now a username/password requirement for the photo archive (which is currently offline).

I turned down the job at St Helena school in the end. I didn’t think this school would offer the best place to learn new skills in the web design arena… having looked at their website, it leaves a lot to be desired and doesn’t show them to be at the forefront of the web industry. Which I suppose is to be expected. Had I taken the job I think I would have been able to offer them more with regards to websites than they would me, which, is obviously not ideal.

A friend told me that The Suffolk Show are hiring for the annual event. £375 for three days works suits me just fine! They have positions such as litter-picker, car park attendant, etc. Something to keep me occupied for a few days, and earn a nice amount of money. Hopefully I will be able to tour the show as well and pick up lots of freebies at the stands! The show is always good, and well-attended, and not all farm related as some people like to think. Check their site for more info, and why not make a visit to the real thing.

Meanwhile I’m still working hard to update all the pages at The Programme Covers Project to the new layout, which is standards compliant. It’s hard work, and quite tedious, but the result makes it all worth while. It’s such a long process though — I can’t make an update to the site until all the pages I’m updating are in the new layout, which makes them far more spread out than I would like. Shame I don’t have a team of helpers! I’m still getting lots of new contributions too — my mailbox is full of flagged attachments!

And Platinum continues to nag me about re-designing and maintaining The Drum & Bass Fever properly. I’ve been saying for the last few months that I would do something about it. Now we are finally going to. I’ve said to Platinum to keep the pressure on me to do it, and he has with the creation of a prototype logo. I really like it and can’t wait to see the next versions of it, and other graphics he will produce for the site. Once things are a bit more complete at the programme covers site, I will start on a layout.
