November 10

No one could have forseen the events at the Carriers on Saturday night. Ben, Rob, and me embarked on a pool league, and, the outcomes of the games were quite brilliant. For me and Ben that is!

Our amazing shots (a few, admitadely were a bit lucky) were quite curious when playing Rob, as when playing each other, Ben and I found ourselfs playing very badly… the victories against Rob had drained all the energy from the brain, such is the mental challenge!

Rob lost four out of four, and with Ben working out the percentages of victory it was quite hillarious for all! Quote of the night: Rob — “If you beat me again, I’m going home!”. Ben did… but Rob stayed for more defeat!

After four years of washing up twice a week — and sometimes more — my era of Kings Head employment has come to an end. I’m the last of the old skool to leave. All other employees have joined post-Nick (who was a very alcoholic chef; Nick would steal wine from the bottle store and drink alcohol he had asked for for inclusion in meals) and as such, I’m proud to have had such a long stint there. Sad also that yesterday was probably the last time I have to listen to Dream 100 ever again and probably the last time I will wash anything up before moving out!

The time has come to move on however, with my starting a new job at the Royal Mail — for the time being a temporary position, but I’m informed they usually recruit “casuals” at a later date. It was originally just for the Christmas period, but since the strikes, they need all the help they can get as there is a lot of mail to sort.

I got the call on Wednesday and went in yesterday for a hard days work! The atmosphere is very cool and like the people I’m working with. I’m in again on Saturday; then Monday – Friday up until Christmas Eve.
