Congratulations to Ferrari on their 16th Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship after a difficult season that had many highs and an almost equal number of lows.
Commiserations to Felipe Massa, who was so close, yet so far from becoming Formula 1 World Drivers’ Champion, 2008. Through the season he has shown a tremendous amount of heart and determination, and can take so many positives from it to come back next season with an even stronger Championship challenge.
It was the most tantalising climax to a season, and as Massa crossed the line, it was it seemed his Championship, only for a struggling Glock to allow Hamilton through to clinch it at its last breath. So close was it in fact that Massa’s family were already celebrating in the Ferrari garage, only to be heartbroken moments later.
